In high school auto shop some d-bag mouth breather painted his to look like a John Deere. Green body, yellow trim, yellow wheels.... I hated him for it.

I still think the US GTI looks weird. This is a mid-late 1970s German Golf GTI. Later mk1s did look a bit beefier and usually had a double set of round headlights. We never got the square ones, only the Jetta did.

The double headlights do wonders for that car. It's such an iconic front-end.
